Terms of service

Dama Heef is a discovery app for restaurants in The Gambia. Customers search menus, find kitchens, and place orders. Restaurant owners list menus and accept orders. Dama Heef does not cook the food, deliver the food, or set the prices — the restaurant does.

You sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook. We do not manage usernames or passwords. If you lose access to your provider account, you lose access to your Dama Heef history.

You agree not to:

• Leave fake reviews or reviews for restaurants you have not visited
• Claim a restaurant you do not own or manage
• Submit menus for restaurants that have asked us to remove them
• Use the app to harass restaurant staff or other customers
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to overwhelm our systems

If you claim a restaurant, you confirm you are the owner or a manager with the owner’s written permission. We verify claims using one of four methods (phone OTP to the listed number, storefront photo with a daily code, business licence upload, or in-person visit). Misrepresentation revokes the claim and bars you from future claims.

Every order is an agreement between you and the restaurant. Dama Heef facilitates discovery, confirmation, and tracking but is not party to the sale. The restaurant is responsible for the food, the preparation, and the delivery. If something goes wrong, contact the restaurant first; contact us if they will not respond.

Payment is currently cash on delivery or cash on pickup. We do not process card payments yet. Wave, Orange Money, and QMoney are on the roadmap.

Restaurants set their own prices. We display what they tell us. If a price is wrong on a delivered order, the restaurant’s posted price applies, not our display price. We will correct displayed prices when restaurants update them.

You can cancel an order any time before the restaurant accepts it. Once a restaurant has started cooking, cancellations are at the restaurant’s discretion. Auto-cancellation kicks in after 30 minutes if a restaurant does not accept.

Reviews are public and appear under your display name. We may remove reviews that violate the acceptable-use section above. We do not edit review content for sentiment — only for clear violations.

You can stop using Dama Heef at any time. We can suspend or close accounts for repeated violations of these terms, with notice unless the violation is severe (fraud, harassment).

Dama Heef is provided as-is. We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that restaurants will fulfill every order, or that the service is uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of Dama Heef is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim — which is currently zero, because we charge customers nothing.

These terms are governed by the laws of The Gambia. Disputes that cannot be resolved through good-faith conversation go to the courts of Banjul.

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, the "last updated" stamp at the top of the page changes and signed-in users see a one-time notice on their next visit.
